Community Support - Week 5

Sunday morning again – hope you’ve all had a good week, all things considered! ☀️

Here’s what we (and you) have achieved this week from 20th April 2020.

💙 138 Active and willing volunteers

💙 80 Meals delivered

💙 60 cards issued to volunteers to write hand written notes to members of our community

💙 Over £1000 in our JustGiving Fundraiser

Our admin team is made up of volunteers, Development Trust staff and board members. The admin team are those who talk directly to the people who request support and make arrangements to dispatch one of the 138 volunteers to run errands. Everyone is doing so well and learning incredibly quickly. We're a friendly bunch and love a natter so do call in on 01847 867050 and we'll do our best to help.

Each week, we’re celebrating folk from the volunteer group who are up for a selfie and some Facebook recognition! This week, we’re celebrating Lindsay and Zoe from the admin team. Both have taken to their tasks like a duck to water and Lindsay’s love of an organisational flow chart has been a much welcomed addition in the group! Lindsay works with North Highland College UHI and is busy working from home during office hours but dedicating time elsewhere to support her community. Zoe is originally from Wick but is staying safe at home with her partner in Thurso and is helping others do the same by committing time to taking and returning calls from people in the community.

For the moment, we’ve closed our request for volunteers, we’re so grateful to everyone who has offered to lend a hand and as things progress, we may need to recruit new people but for now, we’re all good. There are many other ways in which you can help and we’ll keep you posted in the coming days on what’s coming next.

We're very excited to have reached over £1000 in donations via our JustGiving appeal, this money will allow us to continue to run the service as safely as possible and we're thrilled to have reached over 2000 Facebook likes, thank you so much! By liking, commenting and sharing our posts, you're helping us to reach those who might need us which is incredibly important.
