Membership of Thurso Community Development Trust
Joining as a member of Thurso Community Development Trust is a way of supporting its aims and work – to make Thurso a better place to live and work for everyone. As a full member you will have:
Information about Trust activities
An opportunity to contribute to events and longer-term plans
An opportunity to influence what is being planned
A vote at Trust general meeting
The opportunity to be elected as a Director
All types of members are welcome to attend General Meetings but only full members are eligible to stand for election as directors, and associate and junior members are non-voting. Your membership is very important and valuable to Thurso Community Development Trust. More members mean more influence with outside agencies and a better chance to receive funding for our plans and objectives. Membership is FREE OF CHARGE. We want to welcome all members of the Thurso Community to have influence and a say in developing our town with NO BARRIERS to participation.

There are 3 types of membership of the Thurso Community Development Trust.
Full Membership is open to those 16 years or over living within the Thurso Community. For the purposes of obtaining funding and pertinent to how Community Development Trust’s operate this has been set at the Thurso Primary School catchment area. Covering the postcode areas of KW14 7A-P; KW14 7QA-L,Q,S,X; KW14 7RS; KW14 7SH-N; KW14 7SW; KW14 7UB-UY; KW14 8A-R, KW14 8TQ. Postcodes confusing? Took us a while to work it out too! The simplest way to work it out is are you in of one of the Thurso Primary School catchment areas? If yes, you can be a full member!
Associate Membership is open to those 16 years or over living out with the designated Thurso Community as defined above who support the aims and objectives of Thurso Community Development Trust. Associate Membership is open to join as a business or organisation.
Junior Membership is open to those under 16 years who support the aims and objectives of Thurso Community Development Trust.
Membership is considered to be for a lifetime, yes, we believe that you love Thurso as much as we do! However, we will periodically check that you still wish to be a member and receive updates from us. You can also withdraw from membership at any time by dropping us a written note.
